Nicole Sharkey is a Licensed, Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist in the Stateof Washington. She received her master’s degree from the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine (SIEAM), formerly SIOM, in 2011 where she was trained in traditional Chinese acupuncture, Japanese acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Chinese nutritional therapy, auricular acupuncture, tui na (Chinese orthopedic massage), qi gong (movement therapy), and detox acupuncture for the treatment of addictions.
Nicole continues to pursue advanced training in acupuncture, palpation, qi gong, and Chinese herbal medicine, including studying the body through the framework of Engaging Vitality, a form of acupuncture informed by Osteopathic listening techniques. Nicole teaches Engaging Vitality to practicing acupuncturists through continuing education courses and supervises student acupuncturists at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine.
Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Nicole received her BA in Sociology and Peace and Conflict Studies from Brandeis University. She spent several years in the non-profit and healthcare fields working with children and adults with physical and learning disabilities.
